Vacancy Information
Were you a successful, professional PIP2 accredited DC? Did you thrive on managing investigations from start to finish and enjoy the ownership and satisfaction of seeing a job through to the very end? Are you looking to rejoin as a Detective Constable?
We’re looking for experienced and committed investigators to form part of our exciting new policing model and be at the very heart of our some of our most serious and high profile investigations. We currently have a variety of vacancies across the main investigation bases of Reigate, Guildford and Staines. These locations host local specialist CID, Child abuse teams and Domestic abuse teams with the addition of a force-wide Sexual Offences Investigation Team.
Rejoiners will, after 18 months, be able to apply for other specialist opportunities in the same way as existing Surrey DC’s. For example, Surrey and Sussex have joint Major Crime Team, and Serious and Organised Teams, as well as there being DS roles in teams such a Complex Abuse Unit and Paedophile on-line investigation team.
The Role and Key Responsibilities
Our proximity to London and major motorway networks means that we have a wide range of challenging criminality to challenge our investigation teams.
As a valued member of our warm and welcoming force family, you’ll be valued as an individual, and trusted to do your job and make your own decisions. Here, you will have a real opportunity to get your voice heard. With support to become the best you can be, both professionally and personally, you will enjoy scope to take on a range of roles, specialise in areas that interest you, and take advantage of progression opportunities.

To apply to rejoin Surrey Police, you must:
* Have been a substantive officer (at appropriate rank) and not subject to a probationary period
* Have served as a police officer in a Home Office Force
* Pass the necessary vetting, occupational health, fitness and referencing checks; such checks will not be carried out until after a successful interview
