East Midlands Facilities Manager
To cover our group of homes in the East Midlands region.
All of our homes cover a wide range of care – ranging from the residential care where residents simply need support with their daily lives in order for them to continue independently, to full nursing home care and dementia care.
We are now recruiting for a Facilities Manager, who will pride themselves in managing a team of maintenance personnel, to be able to provide a safe and well-maintained environment for our residents to live in.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Liaise with FM in coordinating all Maintenance works within the Homes and all rental properties within the timescales laid out
2. Ensure that all the Empty Rooms are ready and to the standard laid down by the FM
3. Ensure all Maintenance vans are fully stocked and carry out stock takes as and when required by FM
4. Support all the In House Maintenance Teams with their work loads, training where necessary, demonstrating best practice, highlighting any training needs.
5. Liaise with the Home Managers when on site, detailing all work to be carried out and the time scale, discuss any problems that may be encountered
6. In the Absence of the In House Maintenance carry out the required Maintenance checks
7. To be available for maintenance emergencies which may occur at the Home and deal with effectively
8. Carry out weekly Maintenance Checks on Maintenance/Gardening Vehicles
9. Liaise with all Contractors and carry out Inductions as and when required
10. Deputise for the FM when they are not available
Policies and Procedures
Be familiar with and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Report any breach or policy / procedure that could be detrimental to colleagues, residents, or visitors in the first instance to Maintenance Directors PA
Ensure compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety policies and procedures, Fire Regulations and moving and handling policies and practices
Undertake core training and development in accordance with induction and renewal policies.
Education and Qualifications
1. Ideally the Candidate will have qualifications in plumbing, plastering and electrics
2. Willing to gain qualifications
Experience and Knowledge
1. Experience of working with in a Care Home Environment
2. Ability to develop a working relationship with a wide range of people
3. Mechanical, Electrical and Gas System knowledge and experience
4. Excellent knowledge of Building Construction and Maintenance
