The Children and Family Wellbeing Service (CFW) is recruiting for Neighbourhood Group Workers in our Preston District. This role offers a truly rewarding vocation, working with some of Lancashire's most amazing children, young people, and their families. We work with children and young people aged 0-19 years, and up to 25 years for those with special educational needs and disabilities.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate and creative. As a Neighbourhood Group Worker, you will work directly with children and young people and their families, delivering our curriculum offer of quality groups and courses in our Family Hubs, or in district community venues and schools. We deliver groups and courses to help support children, young people, and their families to grow, learn, and develop. We offer antenatal support and advice, new-born groups and activities, and preschool sessions for the 0–5-year-olds. For 5 -11-year-olds, we have groups and activities that support emotional health and wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, and school transitions, as well as dedicated groups and activities for children with Special Educational Needs and Early Years speech, language, and communication needs.
We are looking for creative individuals who have experience working with children, young people, and their families and who welcome further training, learning, and development opportunities. As a Neighbourhood Group Worker, you will need a good level of understanding of IT packages and be able to use our Management Information System. You will be required to record attendance at sessions, work on planning and evaluating groups and courses, and be involved in creating interesting and informative handouts and public display boards.
Our Neighbourhood Group Workers receive training and shadowing opportunities throughout their induction. They are part of the wider Children and Family Wellbeing Service, working to ensure children, young people, and their families get the right support, in the right place, at the right time. The Neighbourhood, Community, and Family Intensive Support teams offer support across Level 2 and 3 on the Lancashire Continuum of Need. This service is part of a partnership approach, and you will liaise with colleagues, schools, and multi-agency partners to deliver support within your district and the Family Hubs network.
