SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Opportunity in Levenshulme
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting in January and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent role based on performance. The pay for this role is £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience.
Role Overview:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners by helping them overcome barriers to education and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* One-to-One Support: Work closely with individual students who have specific needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support necessary to succeed in the classroom.
* Group Support: Assist small groups of SEND students with their academic and personal development, adapting resources to meet their unique needs.
* Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to implement personalized learning plans and ensure an inclusive learning environment.
* Behaviour Management: Use positive behaviour management strategies to help students engage with their learning and develop essential social skills.
* Monitoring Progress: Track and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs to inform future interventions.
* Communication: Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to the student’s development.
* Flexibility: Provide support across various subjects and adapt to the changing needs of the students and school environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Experience: Previous experience working with SEND students in an educational or care setting is highly desirable.
* Education: A background in education, psychology, or related fields is advantageous.
* Empathy and Patience: A caring and understanding nature, with the ability to work calmly in challenging situations.
* Team Player: Able to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support assistants.
