About the job
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our dynamic Warehouse team. This role is critical in supporting the Head of Warehouse and ensuring a smooth operation.
The Stock Controller position will ensure the efficient management and availability of inventory. It is crucial for maintaining correct stock levels, preventing disruptions in supply and supporting the overall operational efficiency of the warehouse. The Stock Controller will help minimise costs and maximise productivity, ensuring that customer demands are met promptly and effectively by accurately tracking and managing inventory.
Your tasks
1. Ensure stock levels are accurate.
2. Perform regular audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
3. Check stock levels regularly.
4. Update stock information on the computer system.
5. Compare items received against items ordered.
6. Implement or improve processes and procedures.
7. Compile daily reports and address inventory discrepancies.
8. Maintain relevant records.
9. Manage accurate and efficient product allocation to enhance picking and production efficiency, ultimately boosting overall productivity within the warehouse.
10. Manage FEFO (First Expired, First Out) and FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to maintain product quality and reduce damages and write-offs.
11. Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
12. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve inventory-related issues.
13. Prepare and present inventory reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
14. Update min/max levels on parts for engineers as requested, validating requests.
15. Control and audit stock in engineers’ vans and the warehouse.
16. Manage stock control inbox.
17. Verify correct serial numbers are allocated to jobs.
18. Perform random checks and audits.
19. Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
Requirements
1. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
2. Good Excel skills.
3. Reliable and willing to work hard.
4. Familiarity with inventory management systems and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
5. Strong numeric skills, proficient in performing calculations, analysing inventory data, and interpreting numerical trends.
6. Knowledge of SAP B1 is not essential but would be an advantage.
7. Ability to work well with others and independently.
8. Strong time management and work organisation skills are essential.
