We are currently recruiting for a client based in the Burnley area who are looking to recruit a Quality Inspector on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector works as part of a well-established quality department. Responsible for supporting the inspection function of the department carrying out 'first off' and final inspections and batch inspection of precision machined parts.
Duties include the following:
1. Carry out inspection duties, including operating and programming CMM's and a variety of manual precision measuring equipment.
2. Carry out first off and final inspections.
3. Support continuous improvement exercises and help improve policies and procedures.
4. Ensure all components are conforming to drawing tolerances.
5. Communicate and work with other members of the team.
6. Complete NCR reports and log issues following company procedures.
7. Ensure equipment is calibrated and fit for purpose.
8. Work with production teams to ensure issues are accurately addressed in a timely manner.
9. Work closely with Quality engineers to provide information and data to assist in CA and RCA activities.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience of precision engineering and assembly operations, equipment and capabilities is highly desirable.
2. Excellent working knowledge of CMM machinery is essential.
3. Programming knowledge of CMM would be desirable.
4. Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment is essential (Micrometers, Vernier’s etc.)
5. Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings is essential.
6. Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications.
7. Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
8. PC literate - capable user of Office 365 applications.
9. Experience of MRP and ERP systems, use of IFS is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
1. A proactive thinker with an abundance of common sense and a 'can do' attitude.
2. Good communication and organization skills and the ability to work well within a 'team-working' environment.
3. Previous experience in a precision engineering inspection role.
4. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints including engineering drawings and specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
2. HNC/HND advantageous but not essential.

1. Monday – Friday 40 hours a week with an early finish Friday
