Warehouse Operations Manager
Responsible for the day-to-day running of warehouse operations as well as leading and motivating a team. You will ensure the warehouse operation delivers a quality service to our customers.
Main Responsibilities
1. Manage daily warehouse operations and oversee a team of operatives and drivers.
2. Ensure strict adherence to GDP principles and monitor compliance with standard operating procedures.
3. Provide effective leadership and motivation through regular team briefings.
4. Monitor and manage budgets, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Maintain high customer service standards to achieve maximum customer satisfaction.
6. Manage overheads within budgetary limits.
7. Implement inventory management procedures for inbound and outbound processes in line with company guidelines.
8. Maintain high standards of picking accuracy within KPIs.
9. Ensure products are transported correctly according to labelled storage conditions.
10. Train and assess the competency of designated deputies.
11. Develop team members and ensure a robust succession plan with high engagement.
12. Utilize data, statistics, and reports to support stakeholder engagement and address operational risks.
13. Lead the design, implementation, and review of planning processes to identify improvements.
14. Drive strategic change and provide proactive solutions based on operational insights.
Key Knowledge and Skills
1. Proven experience managing a warehouse or distribution centre, including handling product complexity.
2. Experience working within a robust HSE-compliant environment.
3. Experience managing teams effectively.
4. Ability to lead change positively.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Organized and process-oriented thinker.
8. Team player with a service-oriented, supportive, and innovative mindset.
9. Proven ability to implement process improvements.
10. Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment under tight deadlines.
11. Good problem-solving skills.
