Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a residency trained, or Diplomate in Internal Medicine (Small Animal) to join our busy team. You will be working in our specialist led multi-disciplinary hospital to provide the highest quality care to patients. We have a team of 5 medicine clinicians, 2 residents and a medicine intern who work to provide the highest level of care to pets, their owners and referring vets. Our medics work closely with our other specialist teams particularly soft tissue, oncology and cardiology. We have an on-site diplomate led ICU and anaesthesia service.

About us
Paragon is a purpose-built diplomate led multidisciplinary referral hospital situated just outside the City of Wakefield. The centre opened its doors in 2018, benefiting from its clean and modern design.
Our extensive, modern facilities allow our teams to deliver the highest quality of care and ensure patients get the best possible treatment. As a multidisciplinary centre, you will work alongside some of the country’s leading specialists and be supported by a team of skilled and compassionate veterinary nurses. With our practice being RCVS accredited to Small Animal Veterinary Hospital level, it allows us to provide outstanding levels of care. The team at Paragon is committed to delivering a first-class service for patients, clients, and our referring vet partners.
The hospital benefits from being close to the beautiful rural Yorkshire countryside yet also has excellent main road links via the M1 and M62. We are within easy access of Leeds. The nearest airport is Leeds and Bradford, and we are within easy access of Manchester.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area for adults, families, and children with Yorkshire Sculpture Park, National Trust properties, and endless walks either in the Peak District, Yorkshire moors, or Yorkshire dales.
Paragon has an exceptionally friendly team, and you can feel the friendly team atmosphere as soon as you enter the building. They benefit from having anaesthetists and two ECC diplomates on site and an exceptional nurse team. They also have a dedicated nurse training lead who is responsible for quality training, mentoring, and supporting the nurses who all undertake regular training and specific area inductions. The team also comprises globally recognised diplomates in medicine, oncology, anaesthesia, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, neurology, and ECC.
