Description Organisation: Leicestershire County Council Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, Leicestershire, LE3 8RA Worker Category : Hybrid Salary: £29,784 - £36,660 per annum (pro rata for part time) Working Hours : 37 Hours per week Contract Type: 22 months fixed term (with the possibility of permanent options becoming available) Closing Date: 8th November 2024 Interview Date(s): from 20th November 2024 Research and Insight Officer (Health and Care) About the role This is an exciting opportunity to be trained to master's degree level whilst working as a Research and Insight Officer in the Business Intelligence Service of Leicestershire County Council, as part of the wider health and care intelligence system. We are now recruiting to a Research and Insight Officer in our busy Business Intelligence Service (22 months initially, with a minimum 20% of time dedicated to Level 7 training). Working as part of a large and innovative Business Intelligence Service, liaising closely with colleagues across the council. You will be based in the Public Health Intelligence team but will have the opportunity to work with teams across the health and care spectrum. You will be trained to provide research, insight and analytical support for strategic planning, service delivery and commissioning within the council and wider health system. The post will work to provide business intelligence, data and analysis on health and care services. For a variety of projects you will be involved in gathering requirements, preparing materials including surveys, and producing high-quality analytical reports, statistics, data, dashboards and presentations for a variety of audiences. About you We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, educated to degree level with a good maths or statistical component, with interest in working in an analytical/business intelligence environment, researching specific issues and managing and analysing data. You must also be interested in presenting data and information using a variety of IT packages, you will have good IT skills and proven ability to learn new packages. Knowledge of tools such as Tableau (or similar visualisation packages), SPSS, R, and Excel (or equivalent) would be an advantage. Though not essential as a full programme of training will be provided. You will have good presentation, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write concise and meaningful reports and provide an interpretation of research findings. Interest in researching specific issues and managing and analysing data (e.g. producing charts, tables, maps, dashboards and use of statistical/analytical techniques). Good IT skills with the ability to present data and information using a variety of IT packages and proven ability to learn new packages. Ability to prepare high quality reports, dashboards and presentations for a variety of audiences. Awareness of questionnaire design and qualitative research methods. Good literacy, numeracy and presentation skills with care and concern for the accuracy of information and evidence of attention to detail. Ability to complete a programme of external Level 7 (Master's Degree Level) Apprentice training as new learning.
