Mental Health/Court of Protection Paralegal Location: Walsall I am currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health/Court of Protection Paralegal to join their busy team. Their practice holds a legal aid contract in Mental Health and has built a strong reputation for representing clients detained under the Mental Health Act and those involved in proceedings within the Court of Protection. About the Role: This position is ideal for enthusiastic candidates looking to contribute to a thriving practice that supports vulnerable members of society. You will work alongside a committed team focused on delivering high-quality assistance and representation to those in need. Key Responsibilities: Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information. Review, draft, and prepare legal documents. Advise clients and complete necessary documentation, progressing cases through various stages in preparation for hearings. Travel to various hospitals and locations across the Midlands to meet clients. Attend care homes and other residences of vulnerable adults. Make Legal Aid applications and draft court documents. Prepare court bundles and file documents with the court. Qualifications & Skills: Legal qualifications are required. Legal experience with a working knowledge of legal aid procedures is advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided. Must possess a full, clean driving license and have access to a car. Excellent time management and dependability. Strong spelling and grammar skills. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
