Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist based at East CLDT, North West Area Centre Kilmarnock.
What you will do:
This Principal Clinical Psychology post will deliver sessions to the East CLDT based in North West Area Centre, Kilmarnock. Allocation of sessions will be determined by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and will reflect the need to meet the requirements of Adults with Learning Disabilities in Ayrshire and Arran. You will be expected to contribute to the specialist Clinical Psychology requirements of the multidisciplinary CLDT and offer specialist clinical case and therapeutic supervision as appropriate to fellow clinicians. We are keen to attract an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Psychologist with clinical experience of working in and delivering expert clinical psychology skills and competencies from within the East CLDT.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran Psychological Services comprises of approximately 100 staff including Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists in CBT, Clinical associates in Applied Psychology, Counsellors, Graduate Assistant Psychologists and Master and Doctoral Psychology Trainees. The Psychological Service delivers area-wide psychological provision through the Professional Lead for Psychological Services, four Heads of Specialty and Consultant Psychology Leads across the Psychological Specialties. The service places a strong emphasis on governance and CPD; provides opportunities for further training and has a number of internal special interest and current working groups. The service has close links with the University of Glasgow, Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Course.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will be required to provide psychological interventions in complex cases, to manage waiting lists for therapies, to provide line-management and clinical supervision for Clinical Psychology staff. They will also be expected to play a lead role in service development.
You must be a car owner/driver, be HCPC registered as a Practitioner Clinical Psychologist and have held a qualified Clinical Psychologist post for a minimum of four years

Hours:
This post is permanent and is offered up to 29.6 hours dependant on existing contractual hours, but variation in contractual hours may also be considered.
