The Fast Track to Care Programme is an initiative that sets out to give people the skills necessary to pursue a lasting career in care. In partnership with WeCare Wales’ Introduction to Social Care course, the Fast Track to Care programme offers ongoing training and support after completion of the online training to aid your transition into employment

Description: The Fast Track to Care ‘training to become a carer’ programme, launched by the Vale of Glamorgan Council, is now collaborating with Introduction to Social Care course to help upskill candidates & fill vacancies across the care sector.
This new approach provides a streamlined pathway into social care for people with little or no experience. It may be the perfect opportunity if you:
1. Are a kind, caring person
2. Are looking for a career in care or transitioning into care from a different sector
3. Would like free training to help you gain a job in social care
The scheme works with more than 20 care providers in the Vale including the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
The Fast Track to Care programme now begins with the course, a 3-day online training provided by WeCare Wales. Once you’ve successfully completed this course, you can return to us to sign up for further training tailored to your needs.
The additional training available through Fast Track to Care includes (depending on availability):
4. Manual Handling Training
5. Emergency First Aid
6. Medication Awareness
7. Infection Control
Upon Completion
Once you’ve completed the Introduction to Social Care course with WeCare Wales, you will have access to a network of support through the Vale’s team. Please send your Introduction to Social Care Certificate to you have completed the course, and we will be in touch with further information.
You can start applying for jobs immediately through .
You can also sign up for further training through the Vale of Glamorgan Council, where we will continue to assist you in finding a role in the care sector. This support includes access to tailored training and guidance to help you secure a position that suits your skills and preferences. For further information, contact with your certificate
