Main duties of the job
We are looking for a candidate who has excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature, together with the ability to work in a demanding environment and an aptitude for great customer service.
You will provide a high quality reception service to patients, doctors and colleagues.
Highly Desirable: Ability to communicate fluently in Romanian.
NHS or GP Practice experience is desirable. Previous use of Emis Web and Docman is particularly desirable.

JOB TITLE: RECEPTIONIST/ ADMINISTRATOR
REPORTS TO: PRACTICE MANAGER
HOURS: Part Time/ Full Time
Job Summary:
The post-holder will work in a team of reception and admin staff within the practice. They will receive and assist patients and direct them to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. They will project a positive and friendly image to visitors, both in person and on the telephone.
The post-holder should have previous experience of working with the general public and be able to work without constant supervision.
In addition to general reception duties the post-holder, under the direction of the Senior Receptionist, will undertake administrative duties as required.
Job responsibilities:
Administration
1. To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
2. To work in accordance of written protocols
3. Filing post in medical records
4. Fax and photocopy as requested
5. Booking Clinicians Clinics booking flu vaccinations, child immunisations etc
6. Answering calls, booking appointments and dealing with patient queries
Repeat Prescription
7. To have a thorough knowledge of the repeat prescription procedures
8. Issue repeats and ensure they are ready to collect
9. Call patients back with Prescription queries
Reception
10. Receiving patients, consulting with members of practice team
11. Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
12. Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
13. Process patients changes of address computer data and medical records
Scanning
14. Scan and file all letters on to patients notes
15. Workflow all letters which need action to the relevant clinician
Computer
16. Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records
17. Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines
Telephone
18. Have working knowledge of telephone/bleep system, during and after hours
19. Cover for telephonist when necessary
Other Tasks
20. Clear rooms after surgeries
21. Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm
22. Any other tasks allocated by managers
