The role of Advanced Clinical Pharmacist for Rheumatology is an innovative role - you will be based in the Rheumatology Department where you will work with specialist nurses and consultants to implement biosimilar switching for the benefit of the patient, the health economy and to maximise income to the Trust. You will play a lead role in setting up and running biologics review clinics to review long-term patients prescribed biologics.
Main duties of the job
1. To be the lead pharmacist for rheumatology, leading, managing and developing medicines management initiatives for our Rheumatology patients.
2. This is an innovative role with the majority of time spent on rheumatology duties. The post holder will be based in the rheumatology department.
3. To lead work with the specialist nurses and consultants in rheumatology to implement biosimilar switching, to the benefit of the health economy and to maximise the income to the Trust from the gain share offered by the ICB.
4. To lead work with the specialist nurses and consultants in rheumatology in setting up and running biologics consent clinics to review long-term patients prescribed biologics.
5. To report back on savings/income generation from the gain share to the medicine and CCS health group and to the ICB.
6. To develop, train, motivate and encourage staff working within the team.

Person Specification
* MPharm or equivalent
* GPhC registered
* Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification
* Hospital pharmacy practice
* Excellent understanding of Pharmacology and Therapeutics
* IT Skills (competence in all basic software e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to meet needs of the post
* Ability to concentrate and work safely in pressurised circumstances
* Commitment to patient care
* RPS member
* Train the trainer course
