The Salvation Army in Reading provides support for people who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple and complex needs. Our role is to provide a safe place to stay or visit with support. The service delivery model is rooted in the harm reduction approach, based on trauma-informed practice, strength-based and person-centred approaches.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Maintenance Person to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
As someone committed to providing a high-quality environment for our clients, as Maintenance Person you will be responsible for:
* General day-to-day repairs and decorating.
* Health and safety checks and dealing with contractors.
The successful candidate(s) will have:
* Ability to work as part of a staff team to ensure any health and safety issues are addressed by on-site staff.
* Awareness of Health and Safety Regulations.
* Respect for confidentiality in line with policy.
* Ability to keep all appropriate paperwork evidencing tasks completed to support the services provided at the Lifehouse.
* Experience and competence in general property maintenance.
* Experience in basic DIY works to facilitate the upkeep of the building.
* Good timekeeping and a smart appearance.
* Willingness to undertake any training as deemed necessary.
* A can-do and non-judgemental attitude with a proactive approach.
