Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to obtain blood specimens Verify patient information and properly label specimens Follow standard procedures for specimen collection and handling Maintain a clean and organized work environment Provide exceptional patient care and maintain patient comfort during procedures Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate specimen collection and timely processing Qualifications Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification is preferred Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and blood collection procedures Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy regulations Commitment to providing compassionate care to patients of diverse backgrounds Day-to-day As a Phlebotomist, you will start your day by reviewing the schedule and preparing the necessary equipment for blood specimen collection. Throughout the day, you will interact with patients to explain the procedure, address any concerns, and ensure their comfort. You will work closely with healthcare providers to coordinate specimen collection and accurately label and handle specimens for laboratory testing.
