Trainee Neonatal Advanced Clinical Practitioner

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a motivated and passionate individual to join our team of Neonatal Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ANNP). This post involves completing a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice (neonatal) at the University of Sheffield, including relevant neonatal modules.
This post will be based in the neonatal department of STSFT and the post-holder would be expected to contribute to the provision of the service which includes nights and weekends. This post would be suitable for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Professional who is seeking a progression role in neonatal advanced clinical practice.
The successful candidate will be a motivated and dedicated individual with leadership and management skills at a senior level. A passion for high-quality neonatal care, well-developed communication skills, and a positive, mature, and professional attitude is required for the role.
Main duties of the job
This post sits within the Neonatal Tier 1 medical rota and as a result, you will be required to participate in the care of babies throughout the service from the postnatal wards to providing care in the intensive care areas. You would be joining an existing practitioner workforce.
You should be enthusiastic and flexible in your approach, with a commitment to providing excellence in neonatal care. In return, you will be joining a friendly, supportive, highly motivated team.
Continuing professional development is encouraged and you will be expected to participate actively in research, quality and safety, audit, and guidelines. If a masters in advanced clinical practice has already been achieved, it is anticipated that additional university module completion and development in neonatal clinical skills will be required.

The purpose of this role is to develop a clear pathway of progression, training, and career structure for Advanced Clinical Practitioners. This post will develop to a Band 8a upon completion of a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice and completion of an Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification. The Trainee will need to demonstrate completion of all clinical and academic practice relevant to the specialty before progression to Band 8a within a set timeframe.
The post-holder will be able to work autonomously and provide a high level of expert clinical management and care to patients within the specialty. They will act as a role model for advanced practice, working closely with the multidisciplinary team and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications
* Active professional registration with NMC or HCPC.
* Degree in health-related subject.
* Prepared to complete MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and relevant modules that meet the 4 pillars of advanced practice within the neonatal specialty.
* Prepared to complete Non-medical prescribing.
* Practice Supervisor/Assessor of recent evidence of having facilitated learning in practice.
Experience
* Significant post-qualification experience in relevant clinical field.
