Operations Associate Robert Half is partnering with a boutique Investment Manager Firm based in London that specialises in providing investment solutions to hire a talented and driven Operational Associate from a financial service background. PLEASE NOTE: 5 days in office until probation and training is done, thereafter 4 days in office. Role: Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Associate to join our investment management firm. This role will involve supporting the front office while assisting with the implementation of new systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the planning, testing, and implementation of new systems, platforms, and software tools used across the investment management function. Ensure that these systems are aligned with the firm’s operational requirements and business objectives. Identify and support the optimisation of existing operational processes. Work with internal teams to document current workflows and implement improvements that drive efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance productivity. Provide operational support to the front office, including portfolio managers, traders, and analysts. This includes trade reconciliation, settlement support, data management, and ensuring smooth flow of trade instructions. Assist with the management and maintenance of key data, including trade data, market data, and client information. Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems, performing data checks and resolving discrepancies. Oversee daily reconciliation of positions, cash, and P&L across various systems, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Collaborate with front office teams to resolve discrepancies and support trade lifecycle management. Prepare and maintain reports for both internal and client-facing purposes. Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and reflective of all operational activities and performance metrics. Ensure all operational processes adhere to regulatory requirements and internal controls. Assist with monitoring risks and identifying areas where controls can be enhanced. Document operational workflows and procedures, creating clear guidelines and training materials for the team. Train colleagues and new employees on system usage, processes, and best practices. Liaise with external vendors and service providers (e.g., custodians, brokers, and technology providers) to ensure smooth execution of operational tasks and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Provide ad-hoc support to senior management and other departments as needed, including special projects or process improvements. Requirements: A degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is preferred. At least 4 years of experience in an operations or support role within investment management, asset management, or financial services. Experience with implementing or supporting systems, technology, and process improvements is a plus. Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and trade lifecycles.
