LINK19 College is a Specialist Post-19 Institution for 19 to 25 year old learners which offers full-time study programmes that provide individualised learning experiences.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Work Placement Supervisor to work with LINK19 College learners from January 2025.
This post is for 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time. The post will be paid on the Kent Scheme Pay Range 5, pro rata + SEN allowance, depending on experience. Initially, this is a Fixed Term contract until 31st August 2026, subject to review at the end of this period.
The post will be mainly based in the Gravesham area with a base at the LINK Centre within North Kent College, Gravesend Campus. The successful candidate will be employed by Ifield school but seconded to LINK19 College to carry out their role for all or part of their contracted hours, depending on the needs of the College.
Candidates could come from a variety of backgrounds, although experience of Special Educational Needs would be preferred. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young people with Special Educational Needs and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be committed to working as part of an established highly motivated team. This role can be challenging but also incredibly rewarding; therefore, the ideal candidate must possess patience and resilience.
Work Placement Supervisors provide workplace support for young adults with an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP). Applicants will need to possess a diverse skill set, including the confidence to work effectively with young people, employers, and parents/carers.
The primary role of a Work Placement Supervisor is to provide support to young people to enable them to gain, learn from, develop in, and maintain their supported work experience placement, with the aim of progression on to paid sustainable employment wherever possible. Work Placement Supervisors provide tailored support to employers to enable them to offer a meaningful experience to learners.
A Work Placement Supervisor must be able to:
* Drive between sites
* Encourage and motivate others
* Believe in the supported work placement programme and the young people's ability to interact professionally with learners, employers, families, and colleagues, including those from other agencies
* Prioritise and manage their time effectively
* Liaise with a wide variety of people within the business and public services settings
* Track and monitor learner progress, providing a vital link between work placement.
