We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager, AML, Customer Monitoring.
As Senior Manager you will be responsible for the oversight and support of the Global strategic direction for customer monitoring, which includes Transaction Monitoring and AML Name Screening, across all LOBs within HBUK. Provide AML SME strategic and operational guidance and technical skills across HBUK on customer monitoring in assessing AML risks, areas of concerns and proposed solutions related to existing / changes to customer monitoring capabilities. Drive the oversight of the governance of customer monitoring controls, ensuring that proposed changes or new customer monitoring capabilities support the overall AML goals and enhance the ability to deter, detect and protect against financial crime risks.
Provide support for strategic direction and guidance to HSBC UK Head of AML with respect to broader AML related issues. (HBUK AML Team covers AB&C, Tax Transparency, CTF/PF and Customer Monitoring
In this role, you will:
* Provide Risk Stewardship across the HBUK entity of the Customer Monitoring controls and formulate the UK Strategic direction for Customer Monitoring and LOBs in HSBC UK
* Act as HBUK AML Subject Matter Expert (SME), with support from HBUK Financial Crime Detection and Risk Analysis and Discovery TM in assessing the AML risk impact from any changes to existing TM capability, or the introduction of new TM capabilities
* Drive the oversight of the governance of Customer Monitoring controls, ensuring that proposed changes or new customer monitoring capabilities support the overall AML goals
* Drive the formation of recommendations and provide SME guidance, both at a strategic and operational level, required to ensure the effectiveness of HBUK’s Customer Monitoring capability and non-automated monitoring controls
* Provide Risk Steward check and challenge to ensure that controls deployed in HBUK are fit-for-purpose
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Seasoned professional with direct experience and understanding of the HSBC Global Financial Crime Policy and UK regulatory requirements is essential.
* Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of automated and non-automated TM controls (at strategic and operational level), gained within large financial institution.
* Strong understanding of how Customer Monitoring controls mitigate FC Risk and the various underpinning detection and monitoring activities as part of the customer lifecycle.
* Proficient knowledge of the bank’s Risk and Control Assessment Framework (including Internal Events, Issues, Actions, etc).
* Strong analytical and data driven risk assessment skills.
* Proven ability to confidently work with and influence senior stakeholders and business sponsors.
* Knowledge of financial crime and regulatory compliance risks and issues
