A rare opportunity has become available to join our highly motivated and friendly Community Midwifery Team as an Infant Feeding Support Worker.
As a team, we are committed to providing high quality, family-centred care to all birthing people and their families. The role involves working as a member of the community team under the supervision of registered midwives, delivering clinical and caring duties. Responsibilities include promoting informed choices and safe feeding practices, ensuring access to support, and improving infant health and well-being. The post also involves supporting antenatal care within the clinical environment and providing postnatal care both in the unit and at home. You will support ensuring women and babies are healthy and adapting well to family life, escalate concerns, and uphold safeguarding and equality of care.
The Community Midwifery Unit is located in Wick, Caithness, offering scenic views and a vibrant community with amenities such as supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, hotels, and churches. Nearby towns offer educational opportunities, and the area is ideal for outdoor activities like wild swimming, surfing, and wildlife watching. Inverness is a two-hour drive with additional amenities and travel links.
