Job Overview
The Procurement and Sustainability team at AGH have a new and exciting opportunity within their team, working on Contract waste reduction plans (WRP). This role will specifically target savings and profit opportunities within the existing portfolio, supporting the ongoing waste reduction targets.
The team prides itself on providing excellent customer service, and we aspire to be the best we can be, contributing to the best possible service to patients and users within the hospital and community. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, confident, and has good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, and is computer literate on software systems such as Microsoft Office.
Main Duties of the Job
To provide a high-quality professional Procurement service to Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford District Care Foundation Trust, Integrated Laboratory Solutions LLP, and AGH Solutions Ltd and other partners ensuring compliance with legislation, national and local policies.
Leads all strategic procurement issues with a view to maximizing the savings potential across the patch with more efficient and effective purchasing arrangements contributing to both Trust’s non-pay expenditure.
To take lead responsibility in the development of Contracts, specifically by:
1. Increasing contract coverage to all key areas of non-pay spend.
2. Working with Managers/Budget Holders in the identification of savings opportunities, monitoring and reporting progress as required.
3. Promoting the strategic direction of the Contracts by attendance and participation in service-wide key working groups.

The Procurement department is part of AGH Solutions Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary company of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and runs a shared service for both Airedale and Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Qualifications
Essential criteria:
* A good level of general education.
* Professional qualifications to CIPS standard (degree level) or equivalent or working towards.
Desirable criteria:
* Management and leadership qualifications.
* Project management qualifications.
* Be a Procurement Act 2023 Practitioner (or equivalent) or be studying towards this or equivalent.
Experience
Essential criteria:
* Proven experience in staff management, supervisory and team management.
* Negotiation experience.
* Experience in a commercial or public sector service environment.
* Experience in driving through efficiency gains and service improvement within a long-established organisational culture.
* Experience with financial budgets and management control of expenditure.
* Experience in developing strategic and operational objectives.
* Experience of Project Management.
* Experience of recruitment and selection.
Desirable criteria:
* Experience in leading a diverse, multi-functional service organisation.
* Experience of a widely dispersed client base.
* Experience in developing an organisation to meet new challenges.
