Paralegal Department: Legal Location: Motorsport UK, Bicester Motion. Hours of Work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week). Core hours are 09:00 until 17:30, Mon – Fri. Line Manager: Assistant Legal Counsel Direct Reports: None. Salary: £25,000 - £28,500 Grade: B Role Purpose The Legal Department is responsible for managing the commercial, business and regulatory affairs of the company as well as developing and sustaining a governance structure that maintains the transparency, accountability, and integrity of the National Governing Body. The Legal Department also encompasses the Regulatory function which governs motorsport in the UK, maintaining standards in the sport as well as ensuring safety and fair play for its members, clubs, officials, and volunteers. The Paralegal will work collaboratively to provide support to our Legal, Safeguarding and Sporting teams. Primary Objectives To act as the primary support to all areas of the legal function within the organisation Responsibilities Working closely with the Legal and Safeguarding teams to assist with case management of regulatory breaches. Reviewing allegations of poor practice /behaviour/ regulatory breaches, overseeing actions and implementing the outcomes. Collating external witness evidence in respect of investigations (under direction). Preparation of Court documents. Providing administration support to the Motorsport UK National Court, coordinating external counsel, witnesses and attendees. Assisting with day-to-day legal issues on an as needs basis, including for example in relation to IP matters, regulatory issues, contentious matters. Providing case synopsis to the Legal, Safeguarding and Sporting Executives. Providing administrative support, including maintaining a record of workflow and taking minutes of relevant Committees. Responding to regulatory queries (with assistance) and progressing post-Event Right of Review requests, Protests and Appeals. Assistance with Data Subject Access Requests and GDPR queries. Assistance in drafting low-level commercial contracts and terms and conditions. Legal research and drafting of company advice. Essential Experience Law degree and / or relevant experience in an in-house legal team (at least 12 months). Ability to work independently and a part of a team. Confident communicator. Desirable Sports and/or motorsport knowledge Experience working for a Governing Body
