The successful candidate will undertake various duties within the prison setting, working alongside discipline colleagues. Previous experience of working in a prison is especially desirable, but not essential. You will benefit from an extensive supernumerary period, access to a full range of training and be encouraged to develop your skills within this role. Key Responsibilities To support the clinical lead on the set up and implementation of the ESS in HMP Bedford. To provide a high-quality specialist service for people with complex mental health problems across the Service. To undertake assessments of patients referred. To provide psychosocial interventions for patients with often complex and challenging mental health difficulties in the prison setting. To facilitate group work with multi-disciplinary colleagues. To complete detailed clinical risk assessments at first and subsequent assessment interviews and accurately record and report key risks. To develop care plans in collaboration with the patient, carer and other relevant person or agency. To provide care-co-ordination function to the service users on your caseload. To provide clinical advice and support to other colleagues within offender health and other agencies concerned with Mental Health. To influence the development of high standards of nursing care, ensuring that appropriate systems are in place to support evidence-based practice. To be conversant with all guidance and operational procedures in relation to offender healthcare at HMP Peterborough. To participate in the ACCT process within the establishment, ensuring agreed healthcare interventions required from the Team are provided.
