Quality Technician - Glasgow
2020 Recruitment is working with a leading global supplier of carbon steel pipes and tubes to recruit a Quality Technician to support and enhance their quality assurance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to maintaining high industry standards while developing their career within a well-established organisation.
Role Overview
As a Quality Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Quality Manager in ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. You will be involved in quality control processes, technical compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Quality Control - Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
2. Inspection & Testing - Assist in developing and conducting inspections and testing procedures in line with project requirements.
3. ISO Compliance & Audits - Maintain documentation and support audits to ensure adherence to ISO standards.
4. Non-Conformity Management - Identify and report quality-related issues, assisting in corrective actions and process improvements.
5. Customer & Supplier Liaison - Support communication with clients and suppliers regarding quality-related matters.
6. Process Improvement - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Assurance department.
Ideal Candidate
1. Qualifications in Quality Assurance (QA), Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
2. Experience within the steel industry or a related manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge of ISO standards, quality management systems, and compliance processes.
4. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality control.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
