English Teacher
Are you an experienced English Teacher looking to start a new role? Do you have strong behaviour management skills? Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced English Teacher to start January 2025 or sooner on a full-time basis working within an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated Independent SEN School.
You will be responsible for 6-8 students in class with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Some students will be working towards their Maths GCSEs while others will be working at a much lower level. You will have support from a Teaching Assistant who will help set up the class, support the students, and manage their behaviour.
The School:
An Independent Special School for pupils aged between 11 and 16, who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The primary identified need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties, with many pupils having additional special educational needs such as Autism, Attention Deficit Difficulties (AD(H)D), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), conduct disorders, and attachment difficulties. They promote the highest standards of educational achievement at all levels and provide a broad and balanced education experience and curriculum, personalised according to need.

* Minimum rate of pay: From £163.00 per day
* Hours: 8.30am - 16.30pm
Experience, Training and Qualification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (DfE Number)
* Subject specialism: English
* Calming mannerisms in challenging situations
* Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment
* Driven to motivate pupils and increase their participation
* The ability to foster individual personal development
* Caring, patient, and good communication skills
* Self-reflective, willing to learn, and demonstrate initiative
* Experience supporting individuals with Autism
* Willing to complete Safeguarding online training
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
* Hold right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide two professional child-related references
