We provide support and care service to children, young people, and their families. We have a number of residential locations in the Derbyshire/Staffordshire and West Midlands areas.

The Team

Training

The Role:
To support and assist the smooth running and coordination of Blossom Care Group’s HR function, in conjunction with current legislation, regulations, standards, and the company's policies and procedures.
The role is a mix of staff welfare & wellbeing, administration, recruitment, strategy, and planning.
The HR Support Officer is expected to add value to the organisation they support. The exact nature of the work will vary according to the needs of the business, though the focus is on supporting the Ofsted and CQC registered homes and service users within them.
Working hours: Can be between 18 to 30 hours per week, over 3, 4, or 5 days. The pay structure is pro-rata of full-time working hours of 37.5 per week.
If you don't have an enhanced DBS or an enhanced DBS on the update service, a new application for an enhanced DBS will need to be made.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Support the HR Manager in delivering support functions across the group and take appropriate direction from the immediate line manager.
* Work closely with all departments in a supporting role, assisting line managers by providing advice and guidance on company policies and procedures.
* Support the business with HR matters and its 3rd party recruitment business.
* Promote equality and diversity as per Blossom Care Group’s values.
* Liaise with a range of people involved in policy areas, such as staff performance and health and safety.
* Recruit staff, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, selecting, and interviewing candidates.
* Develop and implement policies and conduct regular reviews of policies, at least once annually.
* Issue all relevant documentation for new starters and collate the same documents to form their HR file.
* Complete all relevant checks for new starters (i.e. DBS, Employment references).
* Support payroll functions and maintain accurate employee records.
* Plan and occasionally deliver training, including new staff inductions.
* Ensure compliance with all current statutory and company duties, procedures, guidelines, and other instructions.
* Liaise with relevant Managers on staff welfare, wellbeing, appraisal, development, training, and supervision, and provide support.
* Participate in identified training and regular supervision.
* Keep updated with changes to employment legislation and advise management of the same.
* Maintain a safe environment, complying with Health and Safety and other legal requirements.
* The work is office-based but may involve travel to other homes for auditing purposes.
* Handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
* Exhibit excellent communication skills, able to listen and effectively verbalise ideas. Communication can be via phone calls, emails, or face-to-face.
* Take minutes of meetings (i.e. management meetings, disciplinaries & grievance hearings).
* Answer the phone and signpost the same call to the appropriate colleague or take a detailed message.
* Work independently and resourcefully under own motivation.
* Be a team member that integrates into Blossom Care Group and makes decisions based upon the greater good of the business.
* Be calm and organised, able to deal with challenging situations.
* Deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
* Exhibit efficient administrative skills with the ability to use MS Office.
* Support the office environment by completing administration tasks delegated to you by your line manager.
