Madisons are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to get started on a permanent basis for a reputable client in Huddersfield.
In this role, you will be office-based in Huddersfield and will be required to travel to construction and retail sites throughout the UK up to 25% of the time. You will need your own car, insured for business use. Basic knowledge of the construction industry, such as health & safety and CDM regulations, is essential.
Duties:
* We are looking for a graduate to join the team to be trained in all areas of the business.
* Involves looking at all areas of development, from inception to delivery, of various construction/retail-related projects around the United Kingdom.
* An area of particular focus will be the ANPR survey programme. Visiting sites across the country to survey for ANPR camera installation, identifying appropriate power sources, mapping cable routes on plans, and looking for optimum camera locations.
* The role of PM requires the management of every aspect of the project from start to finish, including planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of various projects, always with the client’s requirements in mind.
* It requires communication across all levels of management to develop and establish a brief for the project that clearly defines all objectives.
* It also involves setting measurable objectives and timelines for all elements within the projects and managing other consultant disciplines and contractors to ensure delivery to cost, time, and quality standards.
* It is expected of this role to maintain records and work folders, ensuring all work is checked and appropriately approved for distribution.
* The job requires managing retail construction/redevelopment projects in a live environment.
* The management of other design teams, cost management consultants, and contractors is involved to ensure timely completion within company budget and timelines, as well as those of the client.
Requirements:
* Must have completed a work placement within the relevant field or have previous work experience.
* Educated to degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant subject.
* Full driving license and own car with the ability to travel within the UK.
* CSCS card – Black/gold/white (or possess the qualifications to achieve).
* Good IT skills, in particular Excel.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Pro-active and self-motivated.

* Probation period: 3 months.
