Our client is looking to recruit a knowledgeable Finance professional to take ownership of the entire payroll, alongside additional accounting tasks. The role is being offered on a part-time basis, 28 hours a week (excluding lunch breaks) across a minimum of 4 working days. You will be based on site daily and sadly there is no parking available, so you must be able to travel to Oxford without the need for a vehicle Please only apply for this role if you are available immediately and able to commute to the office daily. Temporary Part-Time Payroll & Finance Officer Responsibilities In this role, you will manage of all aspects of the payroll system, including pensions, HMRC liaison, and will also assist with the production of management and year-end accounts including: Preparing the monthly payroll including pension contributions; payroll related loans; salary sacrifice etc Posting the monthly payroll and reconciliation of all payroll control accounts Acting as the first point of contact for all payroll related queries Administering any payroll changes such as SSP or SMP and rectifying any errors Assisting with the production of management and year end accounts Working with the HR team to support relevant new starter and leaver processes Preparation of all statutory HMRC reports and returns Providing ad hoc general support to the finance team, as required Temporary Part-Time Payroll & Finance Officer Rewards A competitive hourly rate is offered alongside holiday pay. Temporary Part-Time Payroll & Finance Officer Requirements Proven experience within a similar role Strong understanding of payroll and finance systems (ideally CintraIQ, or similar) High levels of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational skills and a methodical and structured approach to work Excellent IT skills, including a good knowledge of MS Office – with particular proficiency in Excel Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Customer-centric and professional, with a proactive can-do attitude Solution-focused, with a flexible approach to problem-solving and dealing with issues. Uses initiative Strong team player with experience of working successfully as part of a busy Accounts/Finance team Demonstrable experience of working to tight timescales and deadlines Ability to work under pressure when necessary and manage multiple priorities The Location Our client is situated in Central Oxford (OX1). Sadly, due to the City Centre location there is no parking available. However, the offices are very easily reached by public transport.
