HEAD OF FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNERING - UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELDLEAD OUR FINANCIAL TRANSFORMATION In 2024, the University of Huddersfield began building a transformative finance business partnering function to drive strategic value across the institution. We're now seeking an exceptional Head of Finance Business Partnering to lead this critical team and spearhead the implementation of our newly centralised financial management service. This leadership role offers the perfect opportunity for a qualified finance professional who thrives on building relationships, providing strategic insight, and leading positive change. You'll directly report to the Director of Finance while managing and developing a talented team of finance business partners. Working in our collaborative environment, you'll build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders including Deans, Professional Services Directors, and Heads of Department. Your expertise will shape financial decision-making across the University and ensure our fiscal strategies align with our academic mission. YOUR IMPACT AS HEAD OF FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNERING
* Lead and inspire a newly formed finance shared service team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence
* Develop and implement the strategic vision for our Finance Business Partnering function
* Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to provide expert advice and critical challenge
* Drive financial performance by bringing business intelligence and operational knowledge to budget setting and forecasting
* Collaborate across teams within Financial Services to ensure cohesive service delivery
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost-saving initiatives
* Coach and develop your team while upskilling stakeholders in financial management
* Support University leaders with accurate financial analysis and evidence-based decision support

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
* Full accounting qualification (ACMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with demonstrated up-to-date technical knowledge
* Substantial experience working in a business partnering role within a large and/or complex organisation
* Proven track record of line management, developing teams, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement
* Experience influencing senior stakeholders and upholding financial management standards
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial audiences
* Strong technical budgeting and accounting skills to support financial reporting requirements
* Advanced IT proficiency and commitment to championing a "digital first" approach
