Description About the Team The Fundraising and Engagement team is focused on promoting the impact achieved by the organisation and marketing the services offered by Cancer Council SA. The team harness the passion of the community to generate the income required to assist with critical research, prevention and support programs, through some of Australia’s most loved campaigns and the development of new fundraising initiatives. About the Role As a newly created position, the Philanthropy Manager will lead and support the Corporate Partnerships Manager, Bequest Coordinator, and Community Fundraising Officer, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals. You will set performance objectives, provide guidance, and foster a high-performance, collaborative culture. Regular updates to senior leadership will keep the team on track, while staying informed on sector trends will help refine strategies. This role will also drive the major gifts strategy, cultivating relationships with high-net-worth donors and key stakeholders, developing funding proposals, and organizing donor events. You will work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to build strategic corporate relationships and oversee the Bequest Coordinator’s planned giving programs. Additionally, you'll support the Community Fundraising Officer in managing peer-to-peer initiatives and events, while identifying opportunities to expand and enhance fundraising efforts. Skills And Experiences About You The ideal candidate will have experience in philanthropy, major gifts, or high-value donor engagement, preferably in the nonprofit sector. You’ll have a proven track record in securing and stewarding major gifts and corporate partnerships, along with strong team leadership skills. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and proficiency with donor management systems (CRM) and fundraising analytics are essential. You’ll also be highly organized, with experience managing projects from start to finish, and skilled at juggling multiple priorities.
