1. Attending andreporting to Daily Stand Up Meetings (DSUM)
Design activitiesincluding;
2. Holding requirementelicitation workshops
Applying Product Safety RecognisedGood Practice (e.g. IEC 61508, RTCA DO 178Cetc.) Coordinating and undertakinganalysis (Hazard identification, Analysis andAssessment) Risk reduction activities(reducing risk ALARP) Defining suitable design optionsand analysing options Applying a systems engineeringapproach to safety products including Working within a centralisedmodelling tool
3. Technically leadingand coordination a small safety team asrequired
Preparing safety assessments asrequired to support system design anddevelopment Preparation of Design SafetyJustification supporting inputs Providing Safety SME to productdesign and gate reviews Governing and assuring parts ofthe organisation Supporting the development andmaintenance of a healthy product Safety Culture within the team andwider business
Your skills andexperiences:
Essential:
4. Familiarity with UK Defence Standard and publicationssuch as Defence Standard 00-56, Defence Standard 00-55, DSA-01,DSA-02
Good workingknowledge of safety analysis techniques suchas: o Functional Hazard Assessment(FHA) o Fault Tree Analysis(FTA) o Event Tree Analysis(ETA) o Failure Mode Effects Analysis(FMEA) o System Theoretic Process Analysis(STPA)
5. STEMdegree with Product Safety experience within a regulatedindustry
Good workingknowledge of the requirements of IEC 61508 and/or IEC 61511 forcomplex Software and Hardware Safety InstrumentedSystems
Desirable:
6. Experience of model-based SystemsEngineering
Chartered Engineerstatus or working toward chartership Experience withinthe Defence Industry Familiarity withCyber-Safety concepts Experience ofdevelopment of complex Systems of Systems(SoS) Knowledge of Safetystandards and practices outside of the Defence domain such as CivilAerospace, Rail, Oil & Gas or other Process Industries
