We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled BSL Teacher to join a dedicated team of professionals. Your role will be crucial in helping students with hearing impairments access the curriculum and develop their communication, social, and academic skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the teaching and learning of deaf students, ensuring they have access to a tailored and engaging learning environment.
* Using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively with students, helping them understand lessons and instructions.
* Assisting in both classroom and extracurricular activities, promoting an inclusive learning atmosphere.
* Collaborating with teachers to deliver differentiated support that meets individual learning needs.
* Helping create a safe and supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves and participate fully.
* Building strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and external professionals to support holistic student development.
The successful BSL Teacher will have:
* British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification or above (essential).
* Experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing children and young people in an educational setting.
* A passion for supporting the academic and personal development of students with additional needs.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
