BANK - Patient Environmental Action Team (PEAT) Member
Band 2 AFC - Bank
The post holder will work individually and as part of a team to perform deep cleans across wards and departments in the trust. You will be part of a reactive service contributing to the maintenance of a hygienic and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are met.
Main duties of the job
1. Perform deep clean duties in all parts of the Trust as required.
2. Carry the emergency pager and independently respond when it is operated.
3. Cover sickness and holidays of staff and attend site at weekends and nights as required.
4. Carry out regular cleaning of air conditioning vents and grills.
5. Work without supervision on minor works.
6. Prioritize work requirements on essential patient equipment impacting the patient experience.
7. Communicate with a range of staff and clients at all levels.
8. Prioritize changing workloads and act proactively to address work requests in conjunction with Mechanical Supervisor/Estates Officer.
9. Understand and comment on maintenance policies.
10. Maintain and repair health service property and equipment.
11. Assist other trades as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
* English and Maths GCSE A - C or equivalent
Experience
* Experience of working in a hospital environment
Skills and Competencies
* Ability to work without supervision once deemed competent
* Ability to work at height using access from ladders/scaffold
* Ability to assist all trades
* Adaptable to change
* Well-developed problem solving skills & a flexible approach to developing solutions
* Undertake best and safe practices under Health and Safety guidelines
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Health & Safety
* Knowledge of TMV & HWS
* Knowledge & awareness of Estates legislation
* Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
* COSHH Regulations
