Title Consultant - Airworthiness and Technical Services Office locations - All UK considered Salary- £45,000 - £60,000 Closing date- 13th September 2024 but we encourage early applications Frazer-Nash provides Airworthiness and Technical Support services to the UK Defence Air Environment (DAE) and we are looking for an experienced consultant to lead the development and delivery of this service. In addition, the successful candidate will provide engineering expertise to our large team of multi-discipline aerospace engineers across a variety of fixed-wing, rotary-wing and crewed and uncrewed air systems. Our Systems Integration team aims to support our clients in providing the UK with airworthy, safe, sustainable military capability through the application of a systems engineering approach to delivering engineering technical services across the MoD in the aerospace domain. Our clients look for support in initial certification and type airworthiness, continuing airworthiness and technical delivery of projects. This would suit an engineer with previous experience working in Defence Equipment & Support Project Teams, Delivery Teams, Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations or Front Line delivery of air systems or equipment. The role represents an opportunity to join an expanding team and ensure technical delivery on projects across the aerospace spectrum within Defence. You will develop a portfolio of project deliveries, hone your consultancy and project management skills as well as develop more junior engineers and graduates. As part of Frazer-Nash, you may also have opportunities to work outside aerospace or gain civil experience to widen your skillset further. Essential Requirements Have sound engineering experience across multiple disciplines Is a practitioner in initial, type or continuing airworthiness: Air Domain Experience working within Continuing Airworthiness or Engineering Authority (military or civilian grades) Could include engineering support within Safety / Logistics Supply Leading engineering teams or technical desks as an engineering leader Has demonstrable technical experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment, in the aerospace industry, including: Certification Specifications and compliance; Requirements management; Safety and assurance; Test and acceptance. Shows a strong customer-focused attitude with experience of leading stakeholders Demonstrates an understanding of the different air safety aspects of an air systems life cycle. Desirable Requirements Holds a degree in a relevant engineering discipline Is working towards or interested in becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng) Experience working within a Delivery Team in Defence Equipment & Support Engineering Experience leading teams on an aviation Squadron, REME Workshop or equivalent Regulatory experience in the Military Aviation Authority or Civilian Aviation Authority Experience of Engineering Standards / Quality audits Aerospace technical experience working in an aviation Design Office or Trials and Evaluation organisation Has previous/current experience as an engineering consultant Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
