Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be able to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles.
Duties
1. Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre rotations.
3. Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and tools.
4. Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
5. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
6. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
7. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the workshop environment.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is essential.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
3. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
5. A valid driver's licence is required; additional qualifications such as an HGV licence would be advantageous.
6. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
7. Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed.
