The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Service Technician to join our dealership service team. The successful candidate will diagnose, service, and repair customer vehicles both at the dealership and on-site, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards. The Technician will collaborate with service advisors, warranty specialists, and parts personnel to maintain vehicle safety and performance while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Please note that heavy lifting and working in various physical positions, including standing, crouching, and kneeling, for extended periods are involved in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose, service and repair vehicles brought to the dealership for service and repair, also attend the customers location to carry out similar work as required.
* Conduct quality checks on work performed.
* Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs.
* Must have thorough repair knowledge of electrical, transmissions, steering, suspension, air conditioning systems, brakes and driveline.
* All work must be performed correctly and in a specified time period.
* Inform the service advisor of work carried out and any additional work required to maintain the vehicle correctly and in a safe roadworthy manner.
* Inform the service advisor when additional work is required on a customer’s vehicle prior to any repairs being carried out.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other dealership personnel.
* Maintain cooperative relationships with other technicians, parts staff and service advisors.
* Maintain dealership equipment to ensure it is in good working order and report any defects found.
* Conserve workshop consumables as appropriate.
* Meet or exceed the allowed repair times for each service or repair.
* Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations and report any issues relating to your safety or the safety of others.
* Wear the required personal protective equipment when required.
* Keep up to date with the latest technical service bulletins etc.
* Follow company policies and procedures.
* Return used warranty parts to the correct warranty parts area.
* Return the completed repair orders to the service advisor with a detailed write up of the work carried out.
* Properly tag all warranty parts.
* Maintain all equipment correctly and advise if anything is broken or requires replacement.
Requirements
* Relevant certification to perform vehicle repairs
* Proven experience in vehicle diagnosis, repair, and maintenance, with knowledge of electrical systems, transmissions, steering, suspension, air conditioning, brakes, and driveline systems.
* Ability to work efficiently within time constraints and maintain high repair quality.
* Strong communication skills to interact with service advisors and other dealership personnel.
* Commitment to following health and safety protocols and keeping a clean working environment.
* A willingness to attend training courses to stay updated on vehicle servicing best practices.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
