Join a forward-thinking team committed to precision, innovation, and excellence.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Skilled CNC Lathe Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator to join our dynamic team. You will work with cutting-edge multi-axis CNC lathes and machining centres, including the Nakamura JX200, WY150, Doosan Puma, and Lynx machines. Your expertise in programming, setting, and operating advanced 3- and 5-axis CNC machines will be essential. You will also use offline programming tools like SolidCAM, EdgeCAM, and Vericut while programming directly with G-code/M-code.This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with experience in precision engineering, aerospace, or motorsport, who are passionate about advanced machining.Key Responsibilities * CNC Programming & Operation: Program, set, and operate multi-axis CNC lathes to deliver precise, high-quality components. * CAD/CAM Integration: Utilize CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidCAM, EdgeCAM, Vericut) for offline programming. * Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications. * Tooling & Calibration: Perform tooling setup, calibration, and routine maintenance on CNC machines. * Quality Assurance: Use precision instruments (micrometres, Verniers, height gauges) to ensure dimensional accuracy. * Process Optimization: Innovate and implement one-hit machining methods to enhance productivity. * Automation Management: Operate and manage robotic systems, including bar feed and robot loading/unloading. * Collaboration: Work with engineering teams to refine machining strategies and reduce cycle times. * Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies.Qualifications and SkillsEssential: * GCSEs in Math, English, and Science (or equivalent). * Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming. * Experience with control systems like Fanuc or NT Smart Pro. * Strong skills in reading technical drawings, inspection, and gauge usage.Desirable: * Certifications in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidCAM, Mastercam). * Knowledge of advanced material properties, such as aerospace alloys. * CNC machining certifications or NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) accreditation.Personal Attributes * Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality control. * Effective problem-solving skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment. * Strong communication and teamwork abilities, including mentoring and support for colleagues. * Passion for precision engineering and continuous improvement.Benefits * Competitive salary: £34 per hour for weekend shift * 28 days holiday, including bank holidays. * Pension contributions. * Opportunities for training, development, and conference attendance. * Employee rewards, including team socials, free refreshments, and parking. * Access to state-of-the-art equipment and modern manufacturing facilities.Working ConditionsYou will work in a dynamic shop floor environment, engaging with cutting-edge machinery and participating in safety-compliant operations.
