Job Title: Planner
Contract Length: Until October 2025 (Maternity Cover)
Location: Remote (90% remote, with occasional travel to Loughborough and Bisham Marlow in Berkshire)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Planner to cover maternity leave for an exciting and varied role within our National Team. This position offers a mix of development management, strategic planning, and national projects. You will play an integral part in supporting national initiatives, partnership engagement, and strategic planning, alongside assisting Area Planning Teams with planning applications and Local Plan consultations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to national projects and planning strategy development.
* Support the Area Planning Teams in handling planning applications and Local Plan consultations.
* Use multiple data sets, tools, and techniques to inform and develop robust planning strategies.
* Engage with a variety of stakeholders in relation to policy development and regeneration.
* Assist in the preparation of policies, including local development plans.
Essential Requirements:
1. Undergraduate degree in Planning (RTPI recognised) or post-graduate diploma in Planning (RTPI recognised).
2. Experience working in a local planning authority, private sector consultancy, or relevant agency, with expertise in policy development, regeneration, or development.
3. Proven experience contributing to policy and strategy development, including local development plans.
4. Familiarity with using data sets, tools, and techniques to support the development of planning strategies.
5. Knowledge of Planning Law and the ability to apply it in practice.
6. In-depth understanding of the National Planning Policy Framework and Sport England’s policy and statutory role concerning playing fields.
7. Awareness of Sport England’s broader policies in relation to planning.
