Your expertise in Psychology will be welcomed and valued in our vibrant, academically rich, and interdisciplinary School of Humanities and Social Sciences. This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team of Psychologists situated between the South Downs National Park, and the coast here in Brighton. The team has seen some growth in recent years and is keen to add breadth to an already strong bank of expertise.
For this role you will need to have a solid knowledge of general psychology as a basis for teaching on a variety of core BPS psychology curriculum areas, across our undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes.
Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their willingness and ability to contribute to a range of teaching across the curriculum, and have a commitment to pastoral care, and supporting students’ development.
They will also be expected to take over the supervision of final year dissertation students who have already started their projects, providing support for students’ research where necessary.
In order to be successful in this role, you must also:
* Be eligible for membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Have a knowledge and ability to teach across a variety of core BPS psychology curriculum areas, quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, and supervise dissertations in both.
* Be competent with IT, particularly in relation to teaching and learning.
* A degree, preferably in psychology, or related area.
This is a 0.5 FTE fixed-term post to cover a period of maternity leave. The earliest possible start date will be 25th November 2024.
