Job Overview:\n\nThe AMHP will be responsible for conducting Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments, managing risk, and ensuring legal compliance in mental health interventions. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role involves safeguarding, crisis intervention, and supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health distress.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and make legal determinations for compulsory treatment.\n\n * Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, police, and medical professionals.\n\n * Manage risk and crisis situations, ensuring appropriate interventions.\n\n * Advocate for service users' rights, ensuring person-centered care.\n\n * Safeguarding responsibilities, including risk management and protection planning.\n\n * Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983, Care Act 2014, and other relevant legislation.\n\n * Maintain accurate documentation and case records in line with legal requirements.\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Qualified Social Worker/Nurse/Occupational Therapist with AMHP status.\n\n * Social Work England/NMC/HCPC registered.\n\n * Experience in mental health services, crisis intervention, and risk management.\n\n * Strong knowledge of Mental Health Law and Safeguarding Procedures.\n\n * Excellent decision-making and communication skills under pressure.\n\nCompliance Record
