What you'll do
Our engineering and construction teams are responsible for the delivery of water treatment, wastewater and network projects across our region.
This is an exciting opportunity to further your career working as part of our design team which delivers innovative and sustainable solutions which provide the required environmental improvements.
As part of the team, you will use your electrical technical skills and practical knowledge to support the development of best-value designs.
You will work on specific engineering tasks or projects as directed and take responsibility for the technical and administrative aspects of small to medium-sized projects or sections of larger projects.
These projects generally form part of the capital delivery programme at water treatment, wastewater treatment and network pumping sites.
You will support team members in activities including:
* technical engineering assessments of sites and design options
* engineering calculations and the optioneering of solutions
* collecting site electrical information from our databases and analysing this information to inform the basis of design
* undertaking site surveys and investigation works across our region
* attending workshops and regular design meetings to review design proposals and consider issues such as buildability, commissioning, and stakeholder needs
* collaboration throughout the design process with our civil, mechanical and electrical engineering teams, providing design input and advice where appropriate
* working closely with all stakeholders in the project team to ensure the right solution is delivered
* investigating and applying innovative and sustainable approaches to help the client drive efficiency
What you'll need
You will be professionally qualified in electrical engineering and have a 2:1 or higher degree qualification.
In addition, you will need:
* an interest in electrical equipment and control system design
* to be working towards incorporated or chartered engineer status
* a good working knowledge of Excel
* good communication skills
* a full UK driving licence
