THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for an
Experienced Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer with the City of Leawood, you are an integral part of improving and making a difference in the lives of those here and in surrounding communities. You will join a team of Project Engineers, Engineer Supervisor and City Engineer who share the same passion for serving the City of Leawood.
You will be a project manager for several highly anticipated projects, which may include reconstruction of 83rd Street and 123rd Street, pedestrian, signal and pavement improvements along State Line Road and many more.

Your work responsibilities may include:
* Coordinating design and construction of the City's public infrastructure projects including streets, bridges, storm sewer, signals, lighting, facilities, and parks.
* Responding to citizens with traffic and drainage concerns. This may include investigating, problem solving, collaborating with peers, and site visits.
* Administering the consultant design scope, monitoring schedules and fees, managing design and construction contracts, plan review, and acquiring necessary permits.
* Assisting with review and approval of private development projects as it relates to traffic, drainage, public infrastructure, City right-of-way, and easements. This includes coordinating with the Planning Department, Building and Codes Department, developers, and owners.
* Working with Construction Inspectors and contractors to ensure timely completion of public infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include providing engineering during construction, submittal and pay estimate reviews, problem solving, regular project meetings, and site visits.
Minimum Requirements: Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school. Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in civil engineering design, construction, project management or equivalent experience. Must have project management experience. Must hold and maintain a valid Certificate of Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) from the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions. If registered in another state, must obtain Kansas registration within one (1) year of hire.
Preferred Requirements: Eight (8) years of experience in a Project Engineer role at a municipality or public works is preferred.
