Join Our Team: Two Exciting Roles Combining Clinical Midwifery and Research Innovation
These are exciting and dynamic posts, each comprising 50% clinical midwifery and 50% research responsibilities.
The research element of these posts focuses primarily on the delivery of Midwifery and Women's Health studies at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust with trials being conducted at both Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Hospital sites. The successful candidates will also support the wider research delivery team, contributing to a varied portfolio of clinical research studies and managing their own caseloads of patients.
These posts provide an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team delivering and developing high-quality research activity across the Trust's services.
The clinical element of these roles involves providing safe, evidence-based midwifery care to women within the Maternity Services. Successful candidates will provide leadership to junior colleagues and students within their area of work, acting as advocates for women and their babies receiving care. The posts also involve working on a rotational basis across different units, which may include community-based work.
Both roles offer a unique chance to engage in a blend of clinical practice and research, making a meaningful impact in women's health.
Main duties of the job
In the Clinical Research role, you will autonomously manage a caseload of patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include maintaining effective communication with patients, carers, and professionals to ensure smooth service delivery. The role also involves providing research-related information and support to patients and their relatives, ensuring that all study-specific investigations are completed as required by the research protocols to establish eligibility and safety for study participation. You will also work closely with clinical teams to map the patient pathway for each study.
The Rotational Midwife role requires managing the clinical area during rostered shifts and delivering midwifery care to women within the Maternity Services, providing leadership to junior staff and students and contributing to the development of midwifery within the unit.
