The Role: As a Water Network Engineer with South Staffs Water, you will provide inspirational leadership to our cross regional risk management team on the water network incorporating both the strategic and distribution system. You are required to implement processes to risk assess and mitigate supply interruption risks during all network interventions whilst being empowered to promote, influence, and deliver change to working practices and processes. Critical Performance Objectives Deliver maximum reward position for our Supply interruptions ODI Delivery of strategic authorised operations to facilitate all work in the network. Promote positive Employee engagement as defined by our annual survey and continuous engagement with the team. Deliver works in accordance with the departments opex and capex budgets. To ensure adherence with all compliance standards and always operate with integrity. Accountable for the team’s health and safety performance reducing their exposure to critical risks/hazards. Responsibility for monthly and annual regulatory reporting (Supply interruptions, DG2) Accountable for managing the strategic authorised operations process to mitigate risk during network interventions. Responsible for the ongoing programme delivery of mains cleaning (PODDS) on the strategic network. Identify improvements required to deliver effective and efficient business processes. Support mains rehabilitation designs and installations to ensure network optimisation and minimal customer impacts. Responsible for maintaining and improving the skills matrix for technical competence. Fully support incident management requirements in line with our procedures. What You’ll Need: Dynamic and collaborative individual with excellent communication and influencing skills. Demonstrating an understanding of hydraulic principles and experience in water network management is desirable but not essential. Experience of engaging with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders. Possessing excellent report writing skills and will be competent across the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project Experience in hydraulic software modelling A full UK driving license is essential. Education / Qualifications Civil or Environmental Engineering discipline. IOSH Managing Safely accreditation is desirable.
