About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay.
This position will be based at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings.
This exciting role allows for the opportunity to work across both our clinical wards to grow your clinical knowledge and skills, as well as playing an important role in the provision of chemotherapy to patients within Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay.
In this role you will be delivering pharmaceutical care and advice to inpatients which includes, but is not limited to, rotations through orthopaedic, general surgery, cardiology, neurology, renal and respiratory wards. You will also be actively involved in clinical checking and ordering of chemotherapy and liaison with oncology and related services, and external compounders.

We are a collaborative and supportive team looking for a colleague who shares our values of Respect, Partnership, Care and Improvement.
We are a growing team of Pharmacists supported by a team of Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants who are responsible for the supply of medicines to Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay services.
When you join our team, we will provide support and guidance as you grow your clinical skills. We have regular journal clubs, grand rounds, clinical talks and an Education and Training Pharmacist to support your growth and development.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with excellent communication skills, a strong team focus and desire to provide a quality service.
You will be imperative to the training of Intern Pharmacists and undergraduates and provide support to the wider pharmacy team including supporting dispensary functions. You will be someone who finds reward in contributing to the improvement and development of medicines services to the hospital, and working with our colleagues in a multidisciplinary approach to deliver great patient care.
