Assistant Minister in charge of Children is directly responsible to:
The Assistant Pastor (Administration, Church Planting and Family life) and
To the Senior Pastor
Principal Function: – Assist the Minister in charge of Children and Toddlers ministries, as well as the Head of Community Ministries, in the overseeing of all programming and ministry for children ages from birth – 6 years including Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, summer programming, special events, etc and the community hub projects and activities.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head of Children’s Ministries to:
1. Enlist and train all department directors in the children's division; assist in enlisting and training
department workers.
2. Give guidance and coordination through enlistment, education, and motivation of the key
leadership of children's work.
3. Advise in the use of ministry materials, equipment, supplies, and space for children’s groups in
all church ministry organizations.
4. Maintain an active ministry of personal witnessing and ministry.
5. Promote a regular ministry of outreach for the children's division in cooperation with the
Church's plan of outreach.
6. Provide appropriate activities for special projects; cooperate with the music ministry in
providing music activities related to children.
7. Provide appropriate activities and training for parents.
8. Work with the Pastorate in providing resource materials for children's workers.
9. Assist to prepare annual budgets for needs of the children's division for recommendation to the Board of Trustees; administer the approved budget according to policy.
10. Keep informed on the latest materials and methods related to children's work.
11. Perform other duties as requested by the Family life Pastor/ Senior Pastor
Community & Warm Hubs projects assistance: - Desirable Qualities
Responsibility: This is a very key part of the third arm of our mission as a Church i.e. Ministry to our Wider community. It is a key part of our Evangelism and outreach Ministry.
. You will assist in the preparation of a budget for the operations of the Warm Hub and the community projects wholistically.
• You will be a key person in the running of the community focused activities, including the Warm Hub, the Homework club and the other community projects, assisting the lead person in these ministry areas, and representing the ministry at various community engagements where we need to have a presence.
• You will be able to attend and initiate outreach events alongside the Social media and marketing manager, promoting the ministry activities and projecting the values and contributions we make to the community, and enhancing engagement and recruitment for our various projects.
• Ability and experience in identifying and building long-term relationships with target audiences is an advantage to us.
• Coordinating the design of promotional material for the various projects
• Assisting the social media minister to maintain, develop, keep up to date and write content for the Church website as well as our other social media sites.
• You will assist the marketing communications specialist in their responsibilities includeing distributing promotional material, responding to customers’ queries and comments on social media and networking before and during programmes & events to promote the Church and its activities
• You will take an active part in the leadership and operations of the Evangelism team of the Church.
