The Opportunity
To oversee the management and control of the design process to ensure that the design and procurement information packages are delivered to meet project requirements. To support the Project Delivery teams by providing design input, onsite or in the pre-construction period. The position will see you working with a senior design manager as a mentor, providing guidance and structure to the role.
What you will be doing
* Assisting in the management relating to the development and implementation of design proposals ensuring they meet customer/employers’ requirements including being aware of budget and programme constraints. The design should deliver:
* Assist in the implementation of the TD digital protocols and any client BIM deliverables.
* Monitor responsibilities for the scheme against the project design responsibilities matrix.
* Assist in the effective management of the Design Team including M&E elements, managing any 3rd parties or novated design teams to meet customer specifications.
* Facilitate forums and processes that engage with the commercial and operational teams to ensure input in the design process.
* Conduct QA/Initial design reviews of information received to assist in design quality management.
* Assist in the record approval processes.
* Assist in the management of the design deliverables programme.
* Assist in the management and facilitation of meetings relating to design delivery.
* Be aware and assist in the management of sustainability deliverables for the scheme including external and internal targets.
* Liaise with project document control and assist in the management of this resource.
What we will need from you
* This role requires an individual with awareness of the principles of construction who can work effectively in a project team.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners under time pressure.
* Excellent IT Skills relevant to the Business Stream are desirable and Microsoft Office is essential. CAD knowledge is preferable but not essential.
* Strong willingness to learn on the job and seek to extend yourself beyond the role.
* Detailed construction knowledge is desirable but not essential.
* The role requires a diligent and organised person who can manage various interfaces in a calm manner.
* Strong time management and structured approach to work is required.
