Description
We are looking for an engaging and driven person to lead the cross functional HVDC Control & Protection team based in Glasgow. You will be part of the global HVDC team, reporting to the UK Head of Engineering.
This is a hybrid role, based in both our Glasgow Offices and your home-office.
Responsibilities
1. Lead a team of engineers within the HVDC engineering team.
2. Provide direction to the teams with technology, focus on safety, on-time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.
3. Collaborate with the local and global management to align on the strategic and operational plans.
4. Manage the overall Hardware & IT/OT Management team within HVDC Engineering. Drive, together with your team, continuous improvements, find relevant KPIs, identify efficiency gains and working methods within teams to ensure methodical and predictable progress and progress reporting of HVDC Control & Protection Hardware & IT/OT deliveries.
5. Adapting and implementing HVDC Control & Protection strategic initiatives to fit your team, to achieve business alignment.
6. Plan team and area composition, individual development and competences needed to meet business needs, in alignment with internal stakeholders and customers.
7. To ensure quality output, you will take ownership of developing and documenting the work processes and monitor process adherence within HVDC Control & Protection Hardware & IT/OT teams.
Your background
1. You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree within the relevant technical area.
2. You have a strong interest and preferably documented experience in management techniques, developing teams and individuals to unlock their potential or a documented background in project management, preferably within HVDC Control & Protection Hardware design or IT/OT deliveries content.
3. As a person you have a passion for people and technology, you are strong in decision making and have the right inner drive and self-management skills to take on full responsibility for your scope and deliver on time in a dynamic environment.
4. You are communicative, engaged and can handle the busy digital landscape of today, comfortable utilizing Teams and O365 suite to efficiently communicate with your team and beyond.
5. You have an open, curious, and problem-solving mindset which means you enjoy improving, or replacing, existing processes, work methods and tools if you deem them needed.
6. You understand deadlines, budgetary constraints and have a strong sense of responsibility and you are comfortable with making decisions for your team if needed.
