As Lead Maths Teacher at Arc School Old Arley, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate a maths development plan for key stages 3 and 4. Your lessons will be well-structured and engage, support, and challenge all students, and you will encourage staff to form links between maths and other areas of the curriculum. The role involves working with other staff members to evaluate learning needs and objectives in line with students’ EHCPs.
About you:
You will be a qualified (QTS/QTLS) teacher of secondary mathematics, ideally with experience working in a special education setting with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs and autism spectrum conditions.
You will be adept at tailoring your teaching and lessons to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
You will be able to set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils, promoting good progress and outcomes.
You will possess good subject and curriculum knowledge and will be comfortable participating in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests where necessary and appropriate.
You will provide levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of the children and those outlined in their EHCPs and individualised plans.
